Setup guide

WordPress plugin setup, step by step

Everything from installing the plugin to verifying the connection and running your first placement. Most sites are connected in under ten minutes.

  1. 1

    Create your HYPERLINKS SEO account

Sign up for the free trial in the app. No credit card is required. Once inside, you'll find your websites and API tokens in the dashboard.

  2. 2

    Download the plugin

From your dashboard, download the HYPERLINKS SEO WordPress plugin package for the site you want to connect.

  3. 3

    Install the plugin in WordPress

In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the downloaded file, then click Install Now and Activate.

  4. 4

    Generate your API token

In the HYPERLINKS SEO dashboard, open the website's settings and generate an API token. Treat this token like a password — anyone with it can publish to your site.

  5. 5

Add the token to the plugin

In WordPress, open the HYPERLINKS SEO plugin settings, paste the API token into the token field and save.

  6. 6

    Verify the connection

The plugin settings page shows the connection status. When it reports connected, the platform can reach your site over the secure REST API. If it fails, see troubleshooting below.

  7. 7

    Run your first placement

Back in the app, the connected site is now available as a publishing destination. Relationship analysis, research, writing, publishing and verification all run from the dashboard.

Troubleshooting

Common setup questions

The plugin says the connection failed. What should I check?

First confirm the API token was copied completely with no extra spaces. Then check that your site is reachable over HTTPS and that the WordPress REST API is not blocked by a security plugin or firewall rule. Regenerating the token and saving it again resolves most remaining cases.

Does the plugin work with security plugins like Wordfence?

Generally yes, but some security plugins block or rate-limit the WordPress REST API. If the connection fails, allow the REST API route used by the HYPERLINKS SEO plugin in your security plugin's settings.

Can I disconnect my site later?

Yes. Deactivate the plugin in WordPress or revoke the API token from your dashboard. Either action immediately stops the platform from publishing to the site.

Does the plugin slow my site down?

No. The plugin adds a lightweight REST API endpoint and does no work on normal page loads for your visitors.
